V.               Announcement:  The following two (2) items have been postponed per Staff’s request and will not be heard at tonight’s meeting.

A.   Standard Properties, Inc. of McDonough, GA, RZ-07-24, requests a rezoning from RA (Residential-Agricultural) to C-2 (General Commercial) for property located on the southeastern corner of the intersection of Highway 155 and Selfridge Road. The property is located in Land Lot 27 of the 11th District, consisting of 4.05+/- acres. The request is for commercial development.  Commissioner Stamey, District 3. The Zoning Advisory Board recommended Denial on October 11, 2007

B.   Standard Properties, Inc. of McDonough, GA, RZ-07-25 requests a rezoning from RA (Residential-Agricultural) to R-2 (Single-Family Residence) for property located at the southeastern quadrant of the intersection of Highway 155 and Selfridge Road.  The property is located in Land Lots 26 and 27 of the 11th District, consisting of 49.816+/- acres.  The request is for the development of a single-family residential subdivision. Commissioner Stamey, District 3.  Zoning Advisory Board recommended Approval October 11, 2007.

APPEAL TO A DECISION TO DENY A VARIANCE REQUEST BY THE ZONING ADVISORY BOARD:

A.   Lifetime Homes, LLC of McDonough, GA; AP-07-09; Commissioner Mathis, District 1; (Presenter:  Ray Gibson, Director) (Exhibit #12)

Lifetime Homes, LLC of McDonough, GA requests a variance for property located at 1494 Highway 81 E, McDonough, GA.  The property is located in Land Lot 170 of the 7th District, consisting of 1.061+/- acres.  The request is for multiple variances.  The request was denied by the Zoning   Advisory Board on August 9, 2007.  The applicant filed an appeal with the Henry County Planning and Zoning Department on August 21, 2007. The Zoning Advisory Board Denied approval on August 9, 2007

B.   Lifetime Homes, LLC of McDonough, GA, RZ-07-18; Commissioner Mathis, District 1 (Presenter:  Ray Gibson, Director) (Exhibit #13)

Lifetime Homes, LLC of McDonough, GA requests a rezoning from RA (Residential-Agricultural) to OI (Office/Institutional) for property located at 1494 Highway 81 E, McDonough, GA.  The property is located in Land Lot 170 of the 7th District, consisting of 1.061+/- acres.  The request is for the development of an office. The Zoning Advisory Board recommended Denial on August 9, 2007.

 

C.   Roger Moss Enterprises of Stockbridge, GA; RZ-07-23; Commissioner Basler, District 5; (Presenter:  Andrella Slaughter, Planner II) (Exhibit #14)

Roger Moss Enterprises of Stockbridge, GA requests a rezoning from RA (Residential-Agricultural) to R-2 (Single-Family Residence) for property located at 311 and 399 Reagan Road.  The property is located in Land Lot 69 of the 11th District, consisting of 15.256+/- acres.  The request is for the development of a single-family residential subdivision.  The Zoning Advisory Board recommended Denial on September 27, 2007.

XII.         All County Offices will be closed on the following dates for the Holidays:

                                                          2.      Tuesday, January 1st for New Year’s Day
